What happens after I purchase?

After your purchase, we “retire/redeem” the carbon offsets/I-RECs on behalf of your business from the applicable registry. After the retirement/redemption is completed, you will receive a certificate with a serial number representing the transaction. This process may take up to 5 business days.

Can I return the carbon offsets and I-RECs after a purchase?

Due to the nature of integrated retirement/redemption processes associated with carbon offsets and I-RECs on ECM Store, purchases are final when made via this channel.

Will my business's name appear on the retirement/redemption certificates?

Yes! The retirement/redemption will be done in the name of your business signifying your contribution to sustainability. Please make sure provided company information is filled out correctly.

What does it mean to offset carbon emissions?

A carbon offset is a reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases made in order to compensate for emissions made elsewhere. Essentially, it's a way for individuals or companies to "balance out" their carbon footprint by investing in environmental projects, like reforestation or renewable energy, that reduce carbon emissions elsewhere.
